Three prisoners at Adiala Jail have approached the Federal Constitutional Court challenging an Islamabad High Court ruling concerning the medical facilities being provided to PTI founder Imran Khan.
The petition seeks to have the Islamabad High Court’s decision declared void, arguing that Article 25 of the Constitution guarantees equal treatment for all citizens.
The petitioners said that if Imran Khan is being provided certain medical facilities, they should also be given the same facilities. They further argued that the Supreme Court’s August 18 order remains in force, under which Imran Khan was ordered to be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for treatment.
The petitioners asked the court to order that they also be treated at Shifa International Hospital.
They also sought an order allowing them to communicate with people abroad via WhatsApp, similar to the facility allegedly available to Imran Khan.
