White House launches ‘Trump TV’ amid dispute between Trump and major news organizations

The White House has launched “Trump TV,” a 24/7 streaming platform featuring presidential speeches, administration announcements and other official content, amid an escalating dispute between US President Donald Trump and several major news organisations.

The White House described the platform as a real-time stream bringing together “top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights” from the Trump administration. 

The launch came as CNN, MS NOW and Politico challenged their exclusion from the White House in federal court. 

The organisations argue that the administration’s decision to bar their journalists violates First Amendment protections for freedom of speech and the press. A hearing on their request for temporary relief is scheduled in Washington.

The dispute has also disrupted the traditional White House television pool, through which broadcasters share footage of presidential events. Major networks suspended pool coverage after CNN was prevented from carrying out its scheduled role.

Trump has defended the restrictions, saying White House access is a privilege rather than a right and accusing the targeted outlets of publishing what he calls “fake news.” The White House has maintained that the media organisations remain free to report outside the White House grounds.
