West Indies take 155-run lead against Pakistan in Trinidad Test

West Indies ended the third day of the opening Test against Pakistan with a 155-run lead after reaching 126-7 in their second innings at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Monday.

Pakistan's bowlers fought back after the tourists suffered a dramatic batting collapse that handed West Indies a first-innings lead of 29 runs. Resuming in a strong position at 244-3, Pakistan lost their remaining seven wickets for just 38 runs to be bowled out for 282 in reply to the hosts' 311.

Fast bowler Justin Greaves starred for West Indies with career-best figures of 5-27. Pakistan captain Shan Masood top-scored with 109, his seventh Test century, but his dismissal triggered the collapse as Greaves removed the middle and lower order.

Pakistan responded with the ball to keep themselves in the contest. Veteran pacer Mohammad Abbas led the attack with disciplined bowling, claiming three wickets, including Justin Greaves. At stumps, Kemar Roach was unbeaten alongside Shamar Joseph, whose unbeaten 22 included three sixes that helped extend the hosts' advantage.

Pakistan bowling coach Umar Gul praised Abbas for leading the attack and mentoring the younger bowlers, saying the team had improved its bowling after an inconsistent opening day.
