Pakistani boxer Qadratullah reported missing in Glasgow

Pakistani boxer Qadratullah, who represented the country in the men's 60kg event at the Commonwealth Games, has reportedly gone missing from the team hotel hours before the national contingent was due to return home, officials said.

According to Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) sources, the boxer was last seen in his hotel room before the team assembled for its departure. Officials discovered he was missing when they checked his room during preparations for the return journey.

Team officials said his luggage and personal belongings remained in the room, while his passport and return ticket were still in the custody of the team manager.

The incident has been reported to the relevant authorities, and the Pakistan Consulate has been contacted to assist in efforts to locate the boxer, officials said.

PBF President Col (R) Nasir Tung confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate and saying the federation would review its procedures for future international tours.

The latest case follows similar incidents involving Pakistani boxers during overseas competitions in recent years.

Pakistan concluded its Commonwealth Games campaign with one medal after Fatima Zahra claimed bronze in the women's 60kg category, becoming the country's first female boxer to win a Commonwealth Games medal.
