Babar Azam has gone without a six in the ongoing Pakistan ODI tri-series, with his lean run continuing as Pakistan were bowled out for 110 against Sri Lanka in the fifth match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

The former Pakistan captain made 29 off 33 deliveries after Sri Lanka opted to field, but could not prevent a collapse that saw the hosts lose all their wickets in 25.3 overs.

Dilshan Madushanka spearheaded Sri Lanka’s bowling attack with a five-wicket haul.

Babar was Pakistan’s highest scorer in the innings. Across four outings in the tournament, he has accumulated 118 runs, including 17 fours, but is yet to hit a six. His previous scores in the series were 45 against Sri Lanka, followed by 34 and 10 against England.

Despite scoring in double figures in all four innings, the 31-year-old has been unable to convert his starts into a big score, extending a difficult spell for one of Pakistan’s most experienced batters.

England’s Joe Root has also not hit a six in the tournament, putting the two established batters among those yet to clear the boundary.

Pakistan has already qualified for the final after winning their first three matches. They beat Sri Lanka by 37 runs in the opening game, defeated England by 87 runs and then secured a one-wicket victory over England in a close contest on Sunday.
