Speeding car overturns, crashes into food delivery rider in Karachi's DHA

A food delivery rider was critically injured in a horrific traffic accident in Karachi's DHA on Sunday night.

According to details, the accident occurred on Khayaban-e-Ittehad within the jurisdiction of the Sahil police station. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

The footage shows a speeding car approaching the traffic signal. In an apparent attempt to avoid hitting a motorcyclist, the driver lost control, mounted the footpath, and then overturned onto the opposite side of the road. The vehicle, after flipping, crashed into another motorcycle ridden by a food delivery worker.

As a result of the collision, the delivery rider sustained serious injuries. He was immediately shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in critical condition. Two young men who were inside the overturned car fled the scene.

A police official said that the injured rider was identified as 32-year-old Farhan, son of Gul Zaman, a resident of Hijrat Colony. He confirmed that the car involved in the accident was being driven at a very high speed.

Police have taken the vehicle into custody and launched a search for the young men who escaped. Media reports said that the suspects later fled the area in a white double-cabin vehicle.
