Sindh to introduce e-challan system for food authority

The Sindh government has decided to introduce e-challan system in the food authority, replicating the successful approach already used in traffic management.

The Food Minister of Sindh,  Mehboob-us-Zaman, and PPP’s women wings chairperson Faryal Talpur held a meeting, and detailed briefings were provided on online registration, complaint management, digital challan system.

According to the minister, the digitization of the Sindh Food Authority will offer citizens more sufficient and efficient services.

The action was taken after the raid, which was conducted earlier this year, at a 5-star hotel near PID, uncovering alarming and unhygienic food items.

However, during the inspection, various ingredients were found to have expired. Even the washing area and the kitchen were found to violate the important hygiene standards.

Due to these findings, the Sindh Food Authority, along with the government, decided to emphasize the need for stricter enforcement of food safety regulations and public health
