Police raid on Qadri House in Nazimabad, multiple extortion suspects arrested

On Saturday Night,the Special Investigation Unit of police conducted a raid at Qadri house, Nazimabad. The operation targeted suspects involved in extortion and firing incidents, the police stated.

During the raid, more than 12 suspects were taken into custody and various ammunition magazines along with guns were recovered.

The police stated that the raid was carried out based on the identification of Rehan, a suspect previously arrested in cases of extortion and firing in Jamshed Quarters. Several individuals, including Jawad Qadri alias Khawaja and Shahzaib Mulla, were arrested.

Meanwhile, according to a spokesperson of Sunni Tehreek, Sarwat Ejaz Qadri was also taken into temporary custody but was later released.

SSP SIU Imran Khan said the suspects were involved in extortion under the platform of a religious organization, and a large cache of weapons was recovered from their possession.

On the other hand, the leadership of Qadri House condemned the police raid, calling it a violation of the sanctity of their premises. They claimed the recovered weapons were licensed and legal, adding that they would have fully cooperated with law enforcement if anyone was involved in criminal activity.

After the police operation, Sarwat Ejaz Qadri held a press conference, stating, “My family’s honor has been violated. We have always condemned terrorism and made sacrifices. We demand action against the entire team involved in this raid; otherwise, protests will be held across the country.
