Nine killed after avalanche hits house in Chitral

Nine people were killed when an avalanche struck a house in the Domel area of Chitral.

According to the Chitral Deputy Commissioner’s Office, a snow avalanche hit a residential house in Domel, resulting in the deaths of nine people, while one child was injured.

Officials said that the deceased included four women and five men.

The bodies of all the victims have been recovered.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are ongoing in Tirah Valley of Khyber district to relocate internally displaced persons (IDPs) who were stranded due to recent heavy snowfall.

Deputy Commissioner Khyber Bilal Shahid said that timely measures were taken under the supervision of the district administration, ensuring that all affected families were safely relocated.
