Lahore cylinder blast claims one life, leaves eight injured

LAHORE: At least one person was killed and eight others injured in a cylinder explosion at a factory in Lahore’s Gulberg area on Sunday, according to Rescue 1122 officials.

The blast occurred on the factory’s first floor, where more than 40 employees were reportedly present at the time.

Rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. Officials feared that several people might still be trapped beneath the debris.

A search and rescue operation was launched to locate anyone buried under the rubble.

The cause of the explosion and further details about the injured were yet to be confirmed.
