Surveillance drone crashes into CTD headquarters in Lahore

A drone allegedly being used for surveillance crashed into the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) headquarters in Lahore, police said on Sunday.

According to police, unidentified suspects remotely operated the drone and sent it towards the CTD headquarters from the Jallo Mor direction.

The drone struck the building before falling to the ground, and the CTD headquarters’ security team took it into custody.

The police said the unidentified suspects violated the Punjab government’s orders by conducting surveillance for terrorist purposes and causing damage to the building.

The drone was allegedly being used to survey the internal areas of the CTD headquarters.

The Bomb Disposal Squad examined the drone and cleared it, police said, adding that an investigation into the incident was under way from all angles.
