PESHAWAR: The Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar has decided to pay daily-wage employees alongside regular government staff in a move aimed at reducing delays in monthly salary payments.
An official order has directed relevant departments to process daily-wage workers’ salaries every month according to the regular employees’ payroll schedule.
Payments will be made on the recommendations of the concerned principals to ensure a more organised salary disbursement process.
The Director General has instructed the relevant principals, Finance Section and Establishment Assistant to implement the directives without delay.
Separately, the Sindh cabinet earlier approved a 7.5% increase in the provincial minimum wage, effective from July 1, 2026. The decision followed recommendations from the Minimum Wages Board and covers semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers.
