An elderly man fell into an open manhole in Korangi and lost his life on Wednesday.

The tragic incident happened near the Kabaddi Ground in Korangi No. 3. The 70-year-old man was a resident of Zaman Town, Sector 34/3.

A footage of the incident has been circulating on social media in which the man is seen walking beside the roadside when he loses his balance and falls in to the uncovered manhole.

The incident sparked anger in local residents who blamed authorities for failing to address repeated complaints about uncovered drains across the city. They urged the authorities to cover the uncovered drains on urgent basis to prevent further casualties.

This incident comes shortly after Ibrahim, a three year old boy, fell into an open drain outside a shopping center earlier this month and lost his life sparking widespread public outrage over carelessness of authorities in covering these open drains all across the city.
