Boy dies by suicide over exam failure in Karachi

KARACHI: A teenaged boy committed suicide after being rebuked by his father due to poor performance in the school annual exam, sources informed.
According to Airport SHO Kaleem Khan Moosa, Turab Haider, aged 16, a student of a private institution, had performed poorly in the test, resulting in rebuke from his father, who is an active-duty police sub-inspector.
The youth got enraged and ended his life through hanging inside their house at the Police Lines area of Airport police station.
Later, his corpse was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medical legal procedures.
In another incident, a person was killed in a shooting attack in Naseerabad.
According to Bin Qasim SHO Faisal Rafi, Allah Noor, 41 years, was found sitting at his shop when two killers showed up there and fired at him. He was critically wounded and rushed to JPMC, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The policeman said the crime could be a result of rivalry between the victim and the culprits.
