ISLAMABAD: Another alleged fraud case has emerged against Noman, the arrested suspect in the case involving International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) gold medallist Laiba Ijaz’s death.
Investigators have uncovered details of a separate fraud case registered against him in Mansehra.
According to investigation sources, Noman is wanted in a case in which he and his alleged accomplices are accused of defrauding a family of Rs8.5 million by promising government jobs for their six children.
The suspects allegedly provided the family with fake appointment letters for government positions. However, when the family verified the documents, they discovered that all the letters were forged.
The family subsequently registered a fraud case against Noman and his alleged accomplices. Following the case’s registration, Noman reportedly went into hiding, and a court later declared him a proclaimed offender.
The affected family has now approached Islamabad police and submitted the allegedly forged documents, sources said.
Separately, investigation sources said Noman had reportedly confessed to defrauding Laiba Ijaz in connection with her US student visa.
