Two suspects, Zeeshan and Sohail, have approached the Sindh High Court seeking bail in a case related to alleged facilitation of accused Anmol alias Pinky.
The court issued notices to the prosecution and investigating officer for August 26.
During the hearing, defence counsel argued that the applicants were involved in the microfinance business and had no connection with Anmol alias Pinky or drug trafficking.
The counsel said the applicants were not named as accused in the case and alleged that the transaction records presented by police were based on mala fide intentions.
He further argued that no one knew Anmol was allegedly involved in drug trafficking before her arrest.
According to the defence, the applicants were allegedly abducted from their homes and subsequently implicated in the case. A sessions court had earlier rejected the suspects' bail applications.
