Sindh govt imposes complete ban on new arms, dealership licences

The Sindh government on Tuesday imposed a complete ban on the issuance of new arms licences in the province.

According to details, the Sindh Home Department also prohibited the issuance of new arms dealership licences. The ban has been imposed with immediate effect and will remain in place until further orders.

A spokesperson for the Sindh home minister said that no licensing authority would be allowed to issue a new arms licence during the ban. New arms dealership licences will also not be issued, while licences may only be granted in exceptional and special cases.

According to the spokesperson, prior approval from the competent authority will be mandatory for such cases, with the rules requiring approval from the Sindh home minister and chief minister.

All relevant licensing authorities have been directed to strictly implement the decision, the spokesperson added.
