Robbers steal Rs6.5 million from Edhi Centre in Karachi's Sohrab Goth

Four armed robbers allegedly looted Rs6.5 million from an Edhi Foundation centre in Karachi's Sohrab Goth area on Friday, prompting a police investigation and the intervention of the Sindh chief minister.

According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the suspects arrived on two motorcycles and carried out the robbery before fleeing with Rs6.5 million in cash. The spokesperson said the money had been withdrawn from a bank earlier in the day to pay employees' salaries.

Police said they were gathering initial information from the staff present at the centre. According to employees, all four suspects were wearing helmets during the robbery.

Investigators are obtaining CCTV footage from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation, police added.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah sought a report from the inspector general of police on the incident.
