Dr Osama Sheikh, the medico-legal officer (MLO) who conducted the first post-mortem examination of Mir Raza, told newsmen that "Mir Raza was shot from the front, and I stand by my statement."
Asked why Dr. Summaiya was opposing his position before the commission, Sheikh said he was unaware of the reason.
He maintained, however, that he had screenshots of his conversation with the police surgeon, which he said he could produce as evidence.
Earlier, Dr Osama alleged that Dr. Summaiya is attempting to implicate him in the case.
Speaking to ARY News, Dr Osama said, “I swear before Allah that Dr. Summaiya framed me. She told me that she had implicated me and would also be the one to save me.”
Dr Osama said he wanted to present his position regarding the case but had not yet been given an opportunity to fully address the matter.
He maintained that he conducted Mir Raza’s first post-mortem and therefore considered himself “primary evidence” in the case.
He called for the facts to be brought before the court, expressing hope that the judge would give him an opportunity to speak at the next hearing.
“There is no question of right or wrong; sometimes things are overlooked,” he said. “No person is perfect, but that does not mean things have gone wrong.”
Dr Osama also stated that he had previously used the same firearm at different distances, apparently in connection with the forensic aspects of the case.
