Ahead of Friday’s Youm‑ul‑Qudds rally, the Karachi Traffic Police announced extensive road closures and traffic diversions across Karachi to ensure public safety and smooth movement. The rally is set to begin after Friday prayers from Numaish Chowrangi to Aman Tower.

According to reports, key routes, including Mai Kolachi Road, M.T. Khan Road, Boat Basin, and the road from PIDC to Jinnah Bridge, are closed in both directions. Sections of the Boat Basin–Jinnah Bridge corridor and other busy links will remain blocked until the procession ends.

Moreover, traffic approaching these areas will be redirected to alternative routes. Vehicles headed from Boat Basin toward Mai Kolachi are being turned back, while traffic from the PIDC to Jinnah Bridge is being rerouted via Khajoor Chowk. Vehicles from Jinnah Bridge are being diverted toward I.I. Chundrigar Road.

Furthermore, authorities have also outlined specific alternate journeys for commuters from Teen Hatti, Nazimabad, Fresco Chowk, Eidgah Chowk, Dawood Pota Road, Lucky Star, Garden (Zoo), and Zebun‑Nisa (Mobile Market), directing them through roads such as Guru Mandir, Soldier Bazar, Bahadur Yar Jung Road, Lasbela, and Nishtar Road to reach their destinations with less disruption.

For assistance and live updates, commuters can call the Traffic Police helpline at 1915, check the department’s Facebook page, or tune into FM Radio 88.6.

These measures aim to ensure public safety during the large rally and keep essential traffic flowing across the city.
