The Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) has issued a new weather advisory for Karachi on Wednesday.

The met department forecasted that Karachi is expected to witness hot and humid weather during the next 24 hours.

A minimum temperature was recorded at 27°C early in the morning today with 82% humidity in the air. 

It added the mercury is likely to go up from 38°C to 40°C in the daytime while winds are blowing from the northwest direction at a speed of 8 to 10 kmp/h. 

Meanwhile, the weather department also predicted that Sindh’s coastal areas, including Karachi, are expected to brace moderate to light rain. 

Weather analyst Jawad Memon said today will be the last day of the ongoing monsoon spell. 

“Under the upper air circulation (UAC), several districts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Badin, Mirpur Khas, and central and eastern districts of Sindh would receive moderate rains and thunderstorms,” he said.

“In Karachi, the rain activities are likely to be slowed than yesterday, but there are 55-65 % chances of moderate rains still existing, as the formation of cells continues in some part of Sindh,” the weatherman added.

A day earlier, parts of Karachi received heavy and scattered rain. The met office’s statistics showed that Surjani area of the metropolis witnessed the most rain 58-milliliter rain.
