An explosion at Riyadh International Airport on Saturday left several people injured, Reuters reported, citing eyewitnesses and sources familiar about the incident.

One eyewitness reported seeing an explosion followed by multiple people lying injured on the ground inside the airport. More than a dozen ambulances were also seen rushing to the scene.

Saudi Arabia’s government media office and civil aviation authority did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The incident comes amid escalating missile attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group against Saudi Arabia. The airport had reportedly been targeted twice earlier in the week, leaving four people dead, several others injured and an aircraft severely damaged.
