Pakistani actress Meera has reportedly been denied entry into Canada by Canadian authorities and deported from the Niagara Falls border crossing, according to Express News reported, citing sources.
According to sources, Meera was travelling from the United States to Canada to attend an event. She was reportedly detained at the Niagara Falls border for several hours before being deported following an order issued by the authorities.
Sources said that during an interview with immigration officials, the actress, whose real name is Irtiza Rubab, was informed that she was barred from entering Canada.
It is worth noting that a few months ago, Meera performed on stage in Calgary while promoting her film Psycho.
Reports suggest that her entry into Canada was subsequently banned because she did not have the required permit to perform on stage during that visit.
However, Meera may appeal the matter before the Canadian Federal Court.
