Former Indian cricketer and TV personality Navjot Singh Sidhu shared the inspiring recovery story of his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, who has triumphed over stage IV cancer, despite being given less than a 3% chance of survival.

In a recent press conference, Sidhu attributed her wife's successful recovery to a combination of rigorous medical treatment, immense determination, and a meticulously planned diet that he believes played a pivotal role in her healing process.

Sidhu outlined the strict dietary regimen that his wife followed throughout her treatment.

According to him, her mornings began with a mix of “lemon water, raw turmeric, and apple cider vinegar” consuming individually  ingredients known for their potential health benefits.

This was followed by the consumption of neem leaves and tulsi, both of which are often considered potent herbs in traditional medicine. He also mentioned that his wife regularly included a variety of nutrient-dense foods in her daily intake, such as sour fruits, juices, and berries.

Sidhu described berries as a “strong medicine for cancer,” noting their high antioxidant content.

Her evening meals were carefully curated, with a focus on alternatives to traditional staples like rice and roti. Instead, she opted for quinoa, which is known for its high protein content and nutritional benefits. For her morning tea, she consumed a blend of spices, including cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, jaggery, and cardamom, all of which are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Sidhu emphasised that his wife’s diet was focused entirely on anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer foods, with all cooking done using coconut oil, cold-pressed oils, or almond oil. Sidhu was particularly enthusiastic about the benefits of coconut, stating that "coconut works miracles" in cancer treatment. Additionally, she drank only pH-balanced water, which Sidhu mentioned had a balanced pH level of 7.

While diet played an integral role, Sidhu also praised the medical care his wife received. Her treatment was primarily carried out at government hospitals, particularly at Government Rajendra Medical College in Patiala.

Despite the initial bleak prognosis, Sidhu shared that his wife’s recovery was not only due to medical intervention but also to her strong willpower and the unwavering support of her family.

He stressed the importance of a disciplined lifestyle and staying positive, encouraging others to believe that cancer can be defeated. “Believe me, cancer can be defeated," Sidhu said, underscoring the power of determination in overcoming the disease.

Sidhu’s public sharing of his wife’s journey has garnered widespread attention, with many people praising their courage and resilience.

It also highlights the growing interest in the role that diet and lifestyle play in cancer recovery, though experts continue to emphasise the importance of adhering to proper medical treatments alongside any dietary changes.
