The wedding of Mahnoor Safdar, daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Captain Safdar, has drawn attention to the jewellery worn by the bride, particularly a reported Mouawad necklace featuring a rare yellow diamond.
The necklace has been identified in reports as Mouawad Le Soleil, a high-jewellery piece centred on a 62.34-carat Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond.
The necklace is reportedly valued at up to $15 million, equivalent to approximately Rs4.2 billion at an exchange rate of around Rs280 to the US dollar. Some reports have placed its estimated value between $12 million and $15 million, or roughly Rs3.3 billion to Rs4.2 billion.
The necklace features a cushion-cut yellow diamond surrounded by a halo of white diamonds. Its collar-style design incorporates floral and marquise-shaped diamond clusters.
The piece is part of Mouawad’s Le Soleil High Jewellery collection and is reportedly accompanied by matching jewellery, including a bracelet, ring and drop earrings.
The complete jewellery suite has been reported to carry an estimated value of around $42 million, equivalent to approximately Rs11.8 billion.
Mahnoor wore the reported necklace with an ivory-toned bridal ensemble and pink-toned makeup during her wedding celebrations.
The reported value of the jewellery has generated discussion on social media, with users focusing on the extraordinary price associated with the pieces.
