Health experts have revealed that a simple finger test could help detect lung cancer at an early stage.

Most people become concerned about their lung health only after experiencing symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or wheezing.

However, warning signs of lung disease can appear in the hands even before these obvious symptoms manifest.

According to specialists, if a person places the index fingers of both hands together, the nails should form a diamond shape. If the nails do not form a gap or diamond shape, it could be a sign of cancer, heart disease, or other lung-related issues.

Experts state that this sign has been observed in around 35% of non-small cell lung cancer cases and 4% of small cell lung cancer cases.

Medical professionals from a prominent UK lung cancer charity have clarified that while the absence of the diamond shape between the nails does not directly confirm lung cancer, it may serve as a potential indicator.

Health experts advise that anyone noticing that their nails remain joined during this test should consult a doctor for further evaluation.
