The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has lifted restrictions on the sale, purchase, transportation and storage of fertilisers across the province, allowing trade to resume in all districts under a monitoring system.

The decision was announced by the Agriculture Department following recommendations from a Joint Working Group meeting at NACTA headquarters in Islamabad.

Fertiliser businesses in Peshawar, Mardan and Swat had already been allowed to operate, while the latest order extends the permission to the remaining districts with immediate effect.

Under the new arrangement, fertiliser distribution will be monitored through the Precursors Track and Trace System (PTTS). Dealers and distributors must follow the prescribed procedures, with action possible against those who violate the rules.

The department has also directed district officials to ensure implementation and withdrawn its earlier restriction order issued on July 28, 2026.
