Gold prices in Pakistan registered a significant decline on Tuesday, mirroring losses in the international market, according to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.
In the local market, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs8,900 to settle at Rs485,062. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs7,630, reaching Rs415,862.
The downward trend follows a brief increase a day earlier, when gold per tola rose by Rs800 to close at Rs493,962 on Monday.
Internationally, gold prices also recorded a notable decline. The global rate fell by $89 per ounce, bringing it down to $4,627, including a premium of $20, which influenced domestic pricing.
Meanwhile, silver prices also moved lower in the local market. The price of silver per tola decreased by Rs238 to reach Rs7,811. Despite the drop, the rate remains near record-high levels.
Market analysts attribute the decline in domestic gold prices to fluctuations in the international market, which continue to directly impact local bullion rates.
