No significant information has so far been found in the mobile phones of Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq during a forensic examination, a TV channel reported on Wednesday, citing NCCIA sources.
According to the report, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had summoned the two players on its own initiative, while their mobile phones were taken into custody for forensic analysis.
The agency examined messages and contacts stored on the devices. Information circulating on social media regarding alleged dressing-room leaks is also part of the investigation, the report said.
It added that no significant material has emerged from the initial examination of the phones. Further forensic analysis is being conducted at the NCCIA headquarters in Islamabad.
The agency will send its report to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, who will decide on the matter concerning the players in light of the findings, the report said.
Rizwan and Imam were questioned during the investigation, but no formal questionnaire was handed to them.
