Indian man receives over Rs7 crore bill for online cab ride

Renowned globally for their pocket-friendly and cozy rides, cab services have garnered a solid reputation. However, amidst the seamless journey, there lurks the occasional nightmare.

In a recent incident in Noida, an Uber customer found himself in a bewildering situation when the bill for his Uber Auto ride skyrocketed to an astonishing amount.

Deepak Tenguriya, anticipating a reasonable fare of Rs. 62, was left dumbfounded as he reached his destination only to discover a jaw-dropping bill of Rs7.66 crore, despite the ride not being officially concluded.

The incident swiftly caught the attention of the public when Deepak's friend took to social media platform X to share a video capturing Deepak and his friend Ashish's disbelief over the exorbitant fare.

In the post, Ashish humorously remarked, "Early in the morning @Uber_India made @TenguriyaDeepak so rich that he is thinking of taking the Uber franchise next. The good thing is that the trip has not been cancelled yet. Become a crorepati loanee instantly by booking an auto for ₹ 62."

As Ashish prompted Deepak to reveal the fare, the phone screen displayed a staggering amount of 'Rs 7,66,83,762.'

Responding promptly to the escalating situation, Uber assured its commitment to investigating the matter, while expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to the customer.
