Trump hosts Netanyahu, Zelenskiy amid Iran and Ukraine crises

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Washington as the wars in Iran and Ukraine reach critical stages. 

The high-level meetings come amid shifting relations between Trump and the two leaders, with ties improving with Zelenskiy while tensions have grown with Netanyahu over the Iran conflict.

Zelenskiy said strengthening air defense capabilities and strategic cooperation with Washington are his top priorities. 

Kyiv is expected to push for additional support, including access to Patriot missile systems and progress on defense cooperation, as Russia continues missile and drone attacks.

Netanyahu’s discussions with Trump are expected to focus heavily on Iran, regional security, and efforts to expand the Abraham Accords. 

Trump has said U.S.-Iran diplomacy remains possible after a pause in American strikes, but warned military action could resume if negotiations fail. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s war with Russia continues without a clear end in sight despite renewed diplomatic efforts.

Zelenskiy is also expected to meet U.S. lawmakers during his Washington visit as concerns grow in Kyiv over delays in delivering previously approved military assistance.
