As many as 45 researchers from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have been included among the world’s top 2% of scientists in 2026, according to rankings compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.

Researchers affiliated with several other universities are also included in the global rankings.

In a press release, NUST said the recognition reflected the researchers’ contributions to scientific knowledge and progress across various disciplines.

Of the 45 researchers, 16 have featured in the rankings over successive years, demonstrating sustained research contributions, the university said.

NUST Rector Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif congratulated the researchers on the achievement, saying their work had brought pride to the university and the country.

He said the recognition reflected NUST’s commitment to academic leadership, scientific research and finding solutions to real-world challenges.
