Two Pakistanis were arrested by police in the holy city of Madina for selling crystal methamphetamine, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

According to the publication, the Pakistani nationals were taken into custody during a raid against drug dealers.

The suspects were handed over to the public prosecution after completing preliminary legal procedures, it added.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched a nationwide crackdown against drug peddlers and smugglers.

In separate incidents, almost four Pakistani nationals were arrested for trying to smuggle or sell the drugs in the kingdom.

Earlier, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control arrested two drug dealers, a Pakistani and a Filipino, in Jeddah for trying to sell 2.6 kilogrammes of meth.

In another incident, the police rounded up a Pakistani national for trying to sell meth in Hafr Al-Batin city.
