Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed that it launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait, southern Saudi Arabia.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group targeted the air base with dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, describing the operation as a response to Saudi military actions in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has faced several Houthi attacks since the latest escalation, including strikes around Khamis Mushait, Abha, Jazan and Najran. Earlier attacks reportedly caused casualties and damage to oil and other infrastructure in the kingdom.
The escalation has raised concerns over regional security, energy supplies and the safety of key shipping routes in and around the Red Sea and Gulf.
