In the ongoing negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Sharm el-Sheikh, the Palestinian resistance group has presented a set of key conditions, including the release of six senior Palestinian prisoners and the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to Arab media reports.
The Hamas delegation, led by senior negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, appeared publicly for the first time since the Israeli attack on Doha.
Sources indicate that Hamas submitted its formal response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan on Friday, proposing that Gaza’s administration be handed over to a non-partisan technocratic government.
The group also expressed readiness to exchange all Israeli captives for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
President Trump reportedly welcomed Hamas’s response and instructed Israel to halt airstrikes immediately. However, within 72 hours of Hamas’s reply, at least 130 Palestinians were killed in renewed Israeli bombardments.
Analysts note that while Trump’s plan might offer temporary relief for Palestinians, lasting peace cannot be achieved through unilateral measures.
True stability, they argue, requires a framework that also holds Israel accountable and ensures an end to its policies of racial discrimination and systematic violence.
