On Thursday, Amazon announced that the restoration of cloud computing infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) damaged in the Middle East war would likely take several months.

Amazon's cloud computing centres in the region were affected by Iranian retaliatory attacks by drones early in March, during the war period, thus hindering cloud computing operations and making its restoration process "prolonged".

Asked whether the announcement had anything to do with another incident, the Amazon representative clarified that the statement issued on April 30 was associated with the previous issue in March.

AWS stands for Amazon Web Services, the leading cloud computing service worldwide and serves global clients.

Its prominent clients comprise big names such as Netflix, BMW, and Pfizer, among other financial corporations, media conglomerates, and government bodies.

It is the most significant source of revenue for Amazon.

As per the AWS status page update issued on Thursday, AWS advised customers to relocate all available resources in other regions and restore any unavailable resources remotely stored.

AWS status page revealed that there are 37 disrupted services within the UAE region as per the week of April 30.

These services were not working well since the beginning of March, according to the status page.

The company stated that as a result of the damage to its facilities in the UAE, it was forced to suspend billing operations in the country.

Last month, Amazon’s cloud region in Bahrain had been affected by drones.
