14 Pakistani sailors seek government help to return home from Yemen

Fourteen Pakistani crew members aboard a ship detained at Yemen’s Aden port have sought urgent government assistance for their repatriation.

The MT DORIN reached Aden port on July 30 and was placed under detention by Port State Control on August 6, according to official documents.

The Pakistani crew members are currently staying at Aden Anchorage along with the vessel’s other crew members. They had joined the ship at Djibouti port on April 14, 2026.

According to sources, the vessel was detained over allegations involving fraudulent flag documents. However, the Pakistani crew members have denied having any involvement with the documents.

The crew members said the dispute was between the ship’s owners, the company and Yemeni authorities, and that they were not party to the matter.

Documents show that 23 people are aboard the vessel, including 14 Pakistanis, eight Indians and one Bangladeshi national.

The Pakistani crew members have appealed to the government to intervene diplomatically and facilitate their safe and immediate return to Pakistan.
