As the highly-anticipated T20 tournament's season 9 is set to kick off today, the netizens have launched a boycott campaign against it after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) announced KFC as its "official snacks partner".

In a post on X, the official social media account of PSL announced striking a deal with KFC, saying "We’re thrilled to announce KFC Pakistan is now an official snacks partner for HBL PSL 9."

Netizens took to microblogging site X to express their disapproval, with hashtag calling for the boycott quickly gaining traction.

Pakistanis argued that the partnership with KFC would promote the genocide being carried out by Israel in Gaza.

A social media user questioned how can Pakistan cheer for PSL when its sponsor, KFC, is linked to the pain of Palestinian families.

KFC is an American fast-food restaurant chain known for its fried chicken, but its ties with Israel have forced Muslims across the globe to boycott it.

The genocide being carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza has entered its fifth month with, on average, a child being killed every 10 minutes and almost the entire population of the occupied enclave becoming homeless.

On October 7, news emerged that Hamas had bulldozed the wall that imprisoned Gaza's 2.3 million population. Gaza, surrounded by Israel's apartheid wall, remains isolated from the rest of the world and faces a debilitating siege.

As of now, over 28,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in strikes on Gaza.
