Pakistan is likely to participate in the upcoming season of the FIH Pro Hockey League, with positive indications emerging from both government authorities and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), according to sources familiar with the matter.

The development follows New Zealand’s withdrawal from the league, after which the International Hockey Federation (FIH) extended an invitation to Pakistan. Sources say internal consultations are underway and the situation is expected to become clearer in the coming week.

Although the PHF has not yet formally confirmed participation to the FIH, sources within the federation said discussions are progressing positively. “There has been no official communication so far, but the outlook is encouraging,” one official noted

The FIH has given Pakistan until 12 August to confirm its entry into the tournament.

Officials added that the final decision will likely depend on government approval, which, according to sources, has so far been supportive of the move.

The PHF has expressed hope that Pakistan will make its return to the prestigious league, signalling a potential boost for the country's struggling hockey programme.
