Pakistan secured four bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025 held in Bolivia from July 27 to August 3, marking its best performance at the global competition to date.

The national team, comprising Muhammad Aneeq, Ghulam Junaid, Muhammad Saram, and Ahmed Imran Malik, achieved a 100% medal tally, placing Pakistan 32nd among 86 participating countries —surpassing several developed nations including Germany, France, Italy, and New Zealand.

This marks a significant improvement from last year’s 46th place finish and two bronze medals at IOI 2024 in Egypt.

Pakistan’s participation was overseen by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) under the Ministry of Federal Education, with support from the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and educational boards nationwide.

A total of 528 students registered for the Pakistan Olympiad in Informatics (POI), from which the four finalists were selected through competitive rounds in major cities.

FBISE praised the achievement as a reflection of the country's growing strength in informatics and computer science.
