Three suspects arrested in Jhang student's rape, murder case

Jhang police have arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in the rape and murder of a first-year college student after her abduction.

In a statement on X, the police said that District Police Officer (DPO) Jhang Sajid Hussain took immediate notice of the incident and three suspects were arrested promptly.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media with people demanding swift action against those responsible.

According to the police, CCTV footage obtained during the investigation shows the suspects leaving the victim at a hospital in critical condition before fleeing the scene. They said that a post-mortem examination of the victim has been conducted and forensic evidence has been collected from both the crime scene and the hospital.

Investigators stated that the findings of the post-mortem and DNA tests will play a key role in determining the exact circumstances of the case and advancing the investigation.

The victim’s family has appealed to authorities for a transparent probe and prompt justice, calling for all those found responsible to be brought before the law.
