Saad Rafique's second wife rejects Jasmeen Manzoor's domestic violence allegations

Anam Hassan, second wife of Saad Rafique, has rejected allegations of domestic violence levelled by journalist and TV anchorperson Jasmeen Manzoor against her ex-husband, terming them part of a "propaganda campaign."

Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club alongside her counsel, Hassan alleged that Jasmeen has been running a campaign for the past one year to malign her and her family.

“For the past year, a smear campaign has been ongoing against my family, with Yasmeen Manzoor playing a central role,” she claimed. “She threatened me to end my relationship with Saad Rafique or face attempts to defame both me and my family.”

Hassan further alleged that Manzoor used her journalist and political connections to lodge several false FIRs against her and her relatives.

“It is now necessary to put an end to this false narrative," she maintained. "I want to clarify that I am a Pakistan Air Force officer and also a liver transplant patient, a condition I developed due to domestic abuse and emotional distress during my previous marriage.”

Hassan said that following her divorce, Saad Rafique, who had also legally separated from Manzoor, proposed to her through a family acquaintance. “My parents gave their consent, and we solemnised our marriage,” she said.

She claimed that Manzoor began issuing threats after learning about the marriage. “She warned that unless I ended my relationship with Saad Rafique, she would defame me and my family.”

Despite efforts to resolve the matter privately, Hassan alleged that the threats and intimidation continued. “She misused her influence to have false FIRs registered and fabricated a domestic violence narrative in an attempt to damage our reputation,” she concluded.

Hassan also alleged that Manzoor shared false pictures of abuse on social media, adding that the woman whose photos were used had reached out to her, requesting their removal.

She further stated that the AI chatbot Grok on X had also declared the pictures to be fake.

Anam Hassan additionally claimed that Manzoor shared a photo from her plastic surgery, falsely portraying it as evidence of domestic violence.

Last week, the anchorperson took to X to share disturbing images that showed signs of physical assault and torture on her body and accused her ex-husband of domestic violence.
