Quetta lady doctor injured in acid attack

A lady doctor who suffered serious injuries in acid attack in Quetta has been airlifted to Karachi for specialized medical treatment.
A female doctor named Mahnoor was seriously injured when an unidentified man threw acid on her at a hospital in Quetta on Saturday.
Dr Mahnoor was on her routine duty in the surgical ward of the Civil Hospital when the man targeted her with acid and fled.
Another man standing near the doctor was also injured in the attack.
Separately, police said the main suspect wanted in connection with the acid attack was killed during an exchange of fire with law enforcement personnel in Quetta.
According to the provincial government, the victim was transported aboard the People's Air Ambulance under the supervision of specialist doctors and medical staff.
She was airlifted on the instructions of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Officials said the decision to move the doctor to Karachi was taken to provide her with the best available treatment and modern medical care.
The Balochistan government has pledged to bear full responsibility for her treatment, rehabilitation and all necessary support.
Chief Minister Bugti said the provincial administration was closely monitoring the victim's condition and had directed relevant authorities to remain in constant contact with her family and provide every possible assistance.
