A viral video from Jacobabad has triggered widespread concern after a young man was allegedly forced to apologise while holding the Holy Quran following a dispute over comments made on social media.

According to claims circulating online, the incident took place in the village of Nizam Din Mastoi, located in Union Council Mubarakpur. The video appears to show the young man holding the Quran while seeking forgiveness.

The footage also shows the young man's mother, who can be seen removing her headscarf and pleading for forgiveness.

Reports circulating on social media allege that the young man and his family were subjected to pressure from influential individuals over the social media comments.

Following the emergence of the video, citizens, social activists and members of civil society have called for a transparent investigation and legal action against those found responsible.

District police authorities have taken notice of the incident and launched an inquiry.

SSP Jacobabad, Faizan Ali, has directed the DSP of Thul to investigate the matter and submit a report, stating that action will be taken in accordance with the law once the findings are received.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the facts of the case and determine responsibility, while debate surrounding the incident continues across social media platforms.
