Prominent human rights activist and lawyer, Jibran Nasir has said there is no justification for violence against women.

Jibran Nasir took to social media platform X to react to Ashfaq Satti's video, a journalist,  who is accused of torturing his wife. Jibran Nasir is a lawyer of Nomaika Ashfaq.

Nomaika accused her husband of brutally toruting her. She in her post on Instagram described her ordeal.

"Our governance structure fails to provide women the sense of security and inviolable dignity which is guaranteed under the Constitution. Not everyone can muster the courage to speak publicly only to demand justice and due process which is their right."

Nasir in his post further said that men in our society abuse societal structure and privilege to walk away any minute, end a marriage or force the wife out of the matrimonial home. Yet they are those who find it necessary to forcefully confine their wives and beat them expecting them to not fight back or react. We not only need to raise better sons but also need to set better examples of accountability.

"When there is a 8 inch difference in height and more than 30kg difference in weight between the man and the woman and multiple visible injuries on the woman's body visible even after 6 days of assault and the woman requires multiple x rays and ultra sound we cannot assume this was an act of self defence or negligence on the man's part. This is a case of severe and abhorrent assault which could have possibly ended the woman's life."
