A mother drowned while trying to save her four children in Sindh’s Thatta on Monday, locals and rescue workers said.

The incident occurred in the district’s Amin Jatt village, where a woman Hajra lost her life while trying to save her children, who were taking bath in the river.

The body was handed over to the heirs of the family after legal procedures.

Earlier, a mother and son from Kaju Bala, Chitral lower, drowned in Chitral River when they returning home after working in the fields in the evening.

According to details, the rescue teams failed to fish out the bodies of the mother and her son despite efforts.

“We tried our hardest to find out both the mother and her son but due to darkness and speedy flow of the river, we could not succeed to find them,” the head of the Rescue-1122 team told the media persons.
