Man, son confess to killing three women found dead in Gulshan-e-Iqbal flat

In a major breakthrough, a man and his son have admitted to killing the three women, who were found dead in a flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, police said on Wednesday.

According to the police, the detained man, the head of the family, and his son have confessed to killing all three women. Following their confession, both have been formally arrested.

The suspects claimed that financial woes was the motive behind the murders.

It was initially reported that the women may have died due to a suspected gas leak. However, the post-mortem report negated this. Forensic officials noted that one of the bodies was slightly decomposed, indicating that one woman had died up to two days before police was informed about the incident. 

Police have detained both the head of the family, Iqbal, and his son for questioning.

A forensic expert said there were no external signs of torture but some suspicious substance was found in the blood during post-mortem of the dead women which may be the cause of death.

Apart from this, police officials say that during the investigation, it was also revealed that the head of the house, Muhammad Iqbal, allegedly works as a magician, the police are investigating every aspect of the matter.

Investigators are also probing financial and personal circumstances of the household, the victim's family has borrowed more than Rs 1.5 crore, rented a house and a car. Police said they received a letter from the father, which is being investigated.

Further forensic and chemical tests, along with testimonies from neighbors and building staff, are expected to shed light on this mysterious case.
