Karachi TikTok star Amna Baig arrested for Independence Day gunfire

Karachi police have arrested TikTok influencer Amna Baig after a video of her firing into the air on Independence Day went viral, sparking widespread condemnation on social media.

The incident occurred around midnight on August 14 near Double Road, Bengali Camp in Korangi, where Amna was accompanied by Owais and Saeed Khan.

According to investigators, Owais initially fired several rounds before handing the pistol to Amna and guiding her hand, while Saeed allegedly encouraged the act.

Police have registered a case under Sections 324, 337-H(ii), 109, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, with SHO Korangi confirming that Amna is currently in custody and under investigation.

Reports have also revealed that Amna was previously linked with the Police Quick Response Force (QRF), adding to the controversy surrounding the case.

The video of the firing has triggered intense debate online, with many condemning the reckless glorification of weapons on social media and urging stricter action to ensure public safety.
