The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has started the installation of panic buttons in women’s educational institutions to provide privacy and security for female students.
Installation has been done in 39 women’s colleges and universities in Lahore during the first phase, said a PSCA spokesperson.
The facility will be extended phase-wise to 450 women’s colleges in Punjab.
In times of emergency, students can activate the panic button to immediately alert police.
