Karachi police have arrested a teenage boy, who allegedly escaped a police checkpoint at Clifton's Teen Talwar, according to SSP South Investigation Tauheed-ur-Rehman.

The incident occurred few days back when police officials signaled a car to stop during checking as part of crackdown against vehicles and motorcycles with unauthorised number plates.

Initially, the boy stopped and got out of the vehicle but then suddenly got back in and sped away.

A video of the boy escaping the checkpoint went viral on social media.

An FIR has been registered against him at the Frere police station. The police apprehended the boy, identified as Owais, son of Kashif. The vehicle has also been taken into police custody.
